Getting good with a guitar is about doing the right things many times over. You'll do something you like many more times than something you don't. That is why it's important to learn the music you enjoy.

With our adult guitar lessons, every piece of music has something to teach. There is no “best music” to start learning with. The best music for us is the music you are passionate about and inspired to learn. In individual guitar lessons, we will grade the music you want to learn. This will ensure that the pieces you want to learn are not beyond your abilities. For this reason, the music you love is the best music to learn!

With music studios in Windsor, Ashgrove ,Newstead and Browns Plains, we're ideally placed to help you become the guitarist (or bassist) of your dreams! Our lessons take place between 3 pm and 9pm Monday to Thursday and 9 am and 3 pm on Saturdays.

Structured guitar tuition

We offer structured guitar lessons. Our guitar lessons are designed to help you play music as fast as possible. We take the time to establish what you want to achieve and then create a series of lessons to help you achieve your goals.

Structured Learning – Choose between weekly, fixed day and time or casual guitar lessons. If you can, we recommend the weekly lessons. Half an hour per week is all you need unless you’re a more advanced guitarist.

Our guitar mentors develop a relaxed technique on the guitar that makes learning easy and fast. And having an understanding of what you’re going through as a pupil is also important. In our guitar lessons, we focus on your ability to play well first, and then to gain a firm grasp of what it is you’re doing.

Guitar lessons with experienced teachers

We call all our teachers music mentors. Mentors are people who are really great at what you want to do, and can show you the shortest possible path to get there!

IMA has helped thousands of complete beginners get started. They've helped intermediate players get past those annoying blocks in their playing. We've even mentored touring professionals in preparation for big tours and recordings. Guitar lessons Brisbane specialise in diagnosing technical faults and solving them. We also solve performance and other issues that might be holding you back.

Studying music is something that you never finish studying. Our mentors are keen students themselves, always focusing on improving their skills. Continual self-improvement is one of the key requirements for working at IMA.
